This morning we walked at Mel McCorrison's farm in Greene. The weather
was summer weather, at last, warm, even hot and humid, a bit hazy but no
rain! We had 16 people attend and everyone loved Mel's farm. It was very
idyllic. We walked the fields and upon reaching the high point with the
wonderful views, partially hidden by the haze, we had a cooling breeze.
And as we reached this point, we had at least 8 probably more bluebirds,
and as many, or more, Chipping Sparrows, young and adult of both
species. Actually the tree lines at the field edges were very active
with birds. And Mel had mowed his trails. Hard to ask for anything
better. Everyone had a great time ... good raspberries too! Thank yo so
much Mel.

The birds were on the light side, we had 24 species. But lots of
mushrooms to try to identify.
