This morning eight happy birders met to walk the Whitman Spring Road
Trail in North Auburn. The weather could not have been better! At 8am
it was comfortably cool, Lake Auburn was calm, and there were birds in
the trees and flowers blooming along the path. The following birds were
seen:

Mallard
Common Loon - 3 on Lake Auburn
Double-crested Cormorant - at least 8 on and over Lake Auburn
Great Blue Heron - Lake Auburn
Ring-billed Gull
Rock Pigeon - Auburn mall
Belted Kingfisher
Downy Woodpecker
Hairy Woodpecker
Pileated Woodpecker - heard
Blue Jay
American Crow
Black-capped Chickadee - many
Tufted Titmouse
Red-breasted Nuthatch
Gray Catbird
Northern Mockingbird - 5 at Auburn Mall
Starling - Auburn Mall
Cedar Waxwing
Black-throated Blue Warbler - 2 m&f
Yellow-rumped Warbler - many
Pine Warbler
Song Sparrow
White-throated Sparrow - more coming each day now
