Trip Results, Railroad Park, Lewiston, December 3, 2008

This morning was the last of the Wednesday bird walks until next June.
Weather was nice with bright sun but cool temperatures, not cool, cold!
Seven people attended but only 14 species of birds were seen. The river
is wide open and there were very few ducks. There was also NO Peregrine
at St. Mary's or on one of the Continental towers. One side of St.
Mary's is covered with scaffolding and is being worked on, perhaps this
has discouraged the Peregrine. We did see him there last month.

Mallards, about 20 (low!)
Common Goldeneye, only 2 by South Bridge
Ring-billed Gull, 40?
Herring Gull, 10
Great Black-backed Gull, 4
Rock Pigeon
Blue Jay
American Crow
Black-capped Chickadee
Northern Mockingbird, 2
European Starling
Song Sparrow, 4
Northern Cardinal, 2
American Goldfinch

Thanks to everyone who came on the walks this season, hope to see you
all next summer.
