Saturday morning's paddling trip to Brownfield Bog started out gray, and only got grayer. It actually started sprinkling before we even got on the water, but that wasn't enough to stop the four untrepid paddlers
to push off from the shore. We were treated to some nice views of the surrounding mountaind in the clouds, and some nice clumps of Arrowhead that looked more like garden specimen plants
than the typical sparse pond greenery that we were used to.
The bog was full of Blackbird, Grackles and Kingbirds, and we saw or heard some other nice birds, but alas, the off-and-on rain got heavier as the morning worn on, and we were forces to cut our trip rather short.
At that we made a good choice, because soon after we got off the water, the skys pretty much opened up.
One of the highlights was a look at a rare albino variety of Pickeral Weed flower
